Timothy Dyer is the Founding Director of Yellow Architecture. He is a Registered Architect in the ACT and has practiced in architecture for the past decade. He has worked for multiple award winning Canberra firms including, Melinda Dodson Architects and Stewart Architecture.

Tim has designed and delivered an array of architectural projects including simple renovations, luxury apartments, institutional fit outs, complex government facilities and specialist school facilities. Tim’s passion lies in efficient yet elegant architecture that is inherently sustainable and delightful in its simplicity.'

What is Yellow Architecture?
Yellow Architecture is a small practice based in Canberra that offers a full range of architectural services, and in addition, interiors and Master Planning. Our goal is to help people maximise what they have before adding to it. We delight in efficient and innovative spaces that provide a considered and cohesive outcome.

This sentiment is carried through the individual design, documentation and delivery of each project.
Our Process
1. Pre Purchase (ACT) $550
This is for clients who are looking at a house, and curious as whether the site is appropriate for their intended use / development. This is generally taken up by client who are planning knock down rebuilds, major extensions and secondary residences.
2. Meet and Greet (complimentary)
We like to speak to you first, so the first step is a 20 minute Zoom or Phone call, just to talk through the process, who we are and who you are. We conclude with an indication of when we are available for an initial consultation.
3. Initial Consultation $200, 1hr
Whether this is for a small renovation, bespoke design or our off the shelf products, we start with an initial consultation. Here we will look at your home site or work space, talk to you about your brief and discuss opportunities for the site.
4. Concept Design and Development Application, Typically $10.5k over 8 weeks
These fees are based on a 150m² new build, we note that these are subject to change based on client requirements and building complexity. Call us to get a tailored fee proposal.
This stage is broken down into four stages: Return Brief, Concept Sketch, Preliminary Sketch Plan, and Final Sketch Plan.
5. Building Approval, Detailed Design, Typically $17.5 over 12 weeks
These fees are based on a 150m² new build, we note that these are subject to change based on client requirements and building complexity. Call us to get a tailored fee proposal.
Building approval drawings - The drawings need to be advanced to the Building Approval level of documentation. Detailed design - Whilst the Building approval drawings allow for construction to commence, these are not required to capture the non Building code elements of the job.
6. Contract Stage and Project Delivery
Contract negotiation - Whichever contract or contractor you choose, we offer a service to sit with you and work through this part of the process. Contract Administration vs Site advice - We can either be on call at hourly rates for advice during construction, or we can administer the contract for you.
